How your data is collected and used.
This policy explains what information Urban Harvest Lab collects, why it is collected, who it is shared with, and the choices and rights you have. Last updated: June 14, 2026.
Urban Harvest Lab (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the website urbanharvestlab.com. The site is run by Manuel Moro, an individual based in Spain, and publishes informational guides about urban gardening, hydroponics, grow lights, and small-space food growing. This Privacy Policy describes how we handle personal data when you visit the site.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at manuelmoro@gmail.com.
Information we collect
We collect a limited amount of information, in the following ways:
- Information you provide directly. If you email us or use the contact page, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this only to respond and to keep a record of the correspondence.
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our service providers automatically receive standard technical data when you visit, such as pages viewed, the referring page, approximate location (derived from your IP address), device type, operating system, browser, and the date and time of your visit.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We and third parties use cookies and similar technologies to run analytics and to serve advertising. See the section below and our Cookie Policy for details.
How we use your information
- To operate, maintain, and improve the website and its content.
- To understand how the site is used through aggregate analytics.
- To display advertising that helps fund the site.
- To respond to enquiries, corrections, and partnership requests.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect against misuse.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising. Necessary technologies keep the site working; analytics and advertising technologies are described below. You can control or refuse cookies through your browser settings and through the opt-out tools listed below. For a fuller breakdown, see our Cookie Policy.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the site. GA4 collects information such as the pages you view, how you arrived at the site, your approximate location, and the type of device and browser you use. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses; IP data is used transiently to derive approximate location and is then discarded.
You can prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, by refusing analytics cookies, or by using your browser’s privacy controls. Google’s handling of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
Advertising and Google AdSense
This site displays advertising through Google AdSense. To serve ads, Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies. Specifically:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites on the internet.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies (including the DART cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Third-party vendors and ad networks may also serve ads on this site and may use their own cookies to do so.
Ads may be personalized (based on your prior activity and interests) or non-personalized (based only on general factors such as your approximate location and the content of the page). You have the following choices:
- You may opt out of personalized advertising by Google by visiting Google Ad Settings (My Ad Center).
- You may opt out of personalized advertising from many third-party vendors at aboutads.info, the NAI opt-out page, or — for visitors in the EU/UK — Your Online Choices.
- You can learn more about how Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites and about Google advertising cookies at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, personalized advertising and non-essential cookies require your prior consent. Where consent is required, ads are served on a non-personalized basis unless and until you consent.
Amazon affiliate links
Urban Harvest Lab is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program. As an Amazon Associate, Urban Harvest Lab earns from qualifying purchases. Some pages contain affiliate links to Amazon or other retailers; if you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. When you follow an affiliate link, the destination retailer processes your data under its own privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.
We promote our content on Pinterest and may use Pinterest’s developer platform and features such as Save buttons, Pins, and Rich Pins. If a page includes a Pinterest feature, or if you reach our content from Pinterest, Pinterest may collect information about your interaction (for example, the page URL, that you saved or clicked a Pin, and standard technical data) in accordance with the Pinterest Privacy Policy. We do not share your email address or contact-form messages with Pinterest.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share data only with the service providers that make the site work, including:
- Google LLC — analytics (Google Analytics 4) and advertising (Google AdSense).
- Amazon — when you follow an affiliate link to Amazon.
- Pinterest — when you interact with Pinterest features or arrive via Pinterest.
- Our hosting and infrastructure providers, which process technical request data to serve the site.
We may also disclose data if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
International data transfers
Some of our service providers (such as Google, Amazon, and Pinterest) are based in the United States or process data globally. This means your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the European Economic Area whose data-protection laws differ from those in your country. Where this happens, these providers rely on safeguards such as the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Legal bases for processing (EEA/UK)
If you are in the EEA or the UK, our legal bases under the GDPR are:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, analytics, and personalized advertising.
- Legitimate interests — for keeping the site secure, understanding aggregate usage, and responding to enquiries, balanced against your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose data to comply with the law.
Data retention
We keep email correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and maintain a reasonable record, and then delete it. Analytics data is retained according to the retention period configured in Google Analytics. Cookies expire according to the lifetimes described in our Cookie Policy or when you delete them.
Your rights in the EEA and UK (GDPR)
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request erasure of your data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Request data portability.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting prior processing.
- Lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. In Spain this is the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos (aepd.es).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at manuelmoro@gmail.com.
Your rights in California (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion or correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information. We do not sell personal information for money. However, the use of advertising cookies to deliver personalized ads may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California law. You can opt out of this by using the advertising opt-out tools listed in the Advertising section above and by enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which we honor as a valid opt-out signal. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights. To make a request, email manuelmoro@gmail.com.
Children’s privacy
This site is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction, such as 13 in the United States). If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the limited data we handle. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Links to other websites
The site contains links to third-party websites, including retailers and partners. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those websites, which operate under their own policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here.
