Affiliate disclosure

How affiliate links are used on Urban Harvest Lab.

As an Amazon Associate, Urban Harvest Lab earns from qualifying purchases. Some articles include affiliate links; if you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. Last updated: June 14, 2026.

The required disclosure

Urban Harvest Lab is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, Urban Harvest Lab earns from qualifying purchases. We may also participate in other affiliate programs and earn commissions from qualifying purchases made through links to other retailers.

What this means for you

When a page contains an affiliate link and you buy something through it, the retailer pays us a small commission. This never changes the price you pay. These commissions, together with advertising, help fund the time spent researching and writing the guides.

FTC disclosure

In line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission’s guidelines on endorsements and testimonials, we disclose that our content contains affiliate links and that we may be compensated when you purchase through them. Where an article includes affiliate links, a clear disclosure also appears near the top of that article, so you see it before any product recommendation.

Editorial independence

Recommendations are chosen for usefulness, not commission

A commission does not decide what gets recommended. If a cheaper option, a simpler setup, or no purchase at all makes more sense, that is what the guide will say.

Disclosure placement

How readers are informed

When an article includes affiliate links, the disclosure appears near the top so readers can see it before any product recommendations.

Reader-first policy

Sometimes the best answer is “skip it”

Some problems are better solved by changing the setup, not by adding more gear. When that happens, the guide says so plainly.
